Most  people believe that focusing on the bigger picture is always better  because it means you are able to reach more people. However, this is  not really the case. Since your target is a large, mixed groups, the  tendency is that you are only able to effectively reach out and communicate  with two or five of them even though their total number is big. This  is because you are dealing with a general market rather than a smaller,  more specific one. And smaller, more specific markets are what niche  marketing is all about.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Niche marketing  targets smaller groups that have specific needs; an example of which  are graduating high school students who will be living in dorms. If  this is your niche market, for example, marketing your reduced airfare  rates will be easier because the group you are targeting share a common  need. So even if you don’t go to the larger group, you are able to  sell more because majority of your target group need the product or  service you are offering.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">If you want  to become successful in niche marketing, there are several strategies  that you can keep in mind.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">First, of course,  you will have to know how to identify the best niche markets for your  product or service. It also pays to know your product/service in and  out because once you are able to identify your niche market, you will  have to talk about what you are offering and provide all the information  the target group needs. To effectively carry out this first strategy,  you will need to do extensive market research. Aside from learning about  the current market trends, you will also have to find out what target  groups easily identify with the product or service you are offering.  You will also need to do some research on niche market demographics;  the age brackets, living conditions, financial status, and the like.  A thorough research on your targeted niche market will help you gain  confidence.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">The next strategy  you will need to undertake involves carrying out a promotional plan.  Once you have identified which niche market is in most need of your  product or service, you can start going about and setting up your promotional  map. How will you reach your targeted niche market? What will you do  to make them interested in what you have to offer? What special offers  can you give them? These are the things that you will need to consider  before drawing up your promotional plans.</span></p>
<p align="justify"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">The third strategy  is to carry out your plans to the fullest. No matter how difficult it  may seem, you will have to go through your plan. It is the only way  for you to know if things will work out. If things don’t go as planned,  you can always go back to the drawing board and re-organize your promotional  map.</span></p>
